Hello. I installed SL, and when I want to play, I have the following problem:

Check your video driver. In your preferrences go to graphics tab and uncheck VBO......especially if you are using an ATI card.

Im getting the same thing to, and I just updated my Video card drivers and now the same thing is poping on my screen and yes I do use a ATI card but I cant find this VBO the last persone talked about.

This is an extremely common issue with ATI graphics cards. They've been mishandling VBO's (and lots of other common OpenGL functions) for years. All evidence seems to suggest ATI's design people couldn't implement certain things properly if their lives depended on it.

Unfortunately, the only way to solve most of these problems is just to sidestep them by disabling the features that don't work properly. There's no way to actually fix it.

For this particular issue, open up your SL preferences, click Graphics, then click Hardware Options. Uncheck the box for Vertex Buffer Objects. Restart SL, and those nasty triangles should be gone.

Unchecking VBO should not show SL down.

sorry if im dumb but were do i go to uncheck vbo like i need step by step from desktop to vbo checker thingy :( please help

Start Second Life
Under the "Edit" menu, open "Preferences". Click the "Graphics" tab, then click the "Hardware Options" button. That brings up the screen with the VBO checkbox.
