Win 2000 pro, 2.26 P4. 1 gig ddr, ti4600 128 DDR
I have always had this problem, and think I finally have it figured out. I right click myself and go to the appearance pie menu item. The alteration window appears. If I change anything and close the window without selecting save the client will crash. It bring up the bug report screen however this locks up my computer and I have to reset the cpu.

I don't know if this will help, but i was having this problem until Aaron Linden figurered out for me. I'm also not sure if this applies to your problem. But i was having invisable problems, scripts blank, couldn't put on clothes, and whenever i'd go into appearance, change, then try to exit, it would crash. Same with trying to file a bug in world.
He told me that something in my SL cache folder was corrupt, so i deleted that folder, and everything has worked perfectly since that time.
