since installing Windows 7 Upgrade to my laptop which was running Windows Vista I am
no longer able to run SL.

Why ? is there any information on running SL in windows 7

Most likely it's a driver issue.......but without more to go on than you just upgraded to Windows 7 that is just a guess.

Win 7 32 or 64 bit?
Clean install or installed over Vista?
Graphics card/accelerator?
System RAM?
CPU?
SL viewer....LL's or some third party?
Type of internet connection and speed?

That's just basic stuff that would help a bunch for anyone to take a stab at helping you.

Whatever happens; do NOT use the Microsoft video drivers. (^_^)

Whatever graphics chip you have; go to the manufacturer's web site and get the drivers from there. (^_^)

This was the first thing I and many people have experienced with Windows7. The Microsoft video drivers will NOT work with Second Life. (^_^)y

This was the first thing I and many people have experienced with Windows7. The Microsoft video drivers will NOT work with Second Life. (^_^)y

Second that. Windows 7 should work great once you have the most recent drivers loaded from Nvidia or ATI (or even Intel). The drivers from Microsoft and most computer manufacturers are well behind the chipset manufacturers' versions.
