I can play fine for about 10 min. and then it lags really badly, and then I have to manually restart my comp. Is there anything I can do to stop it from freezing?

Yeah, there are lots of things you can do to stop that..........or at least try to see if it does stop your problem.

First step would probably be to see if there are any graphics driver updates.

Step two would then be denial: "No, it doesn't freeze after 10 minutes!"
Step three would be anger: "Why me? It's not fair!" "NO! NO! How can you accept this!"
Step four is bargaining: "If only it would stop freezing for just tonight, I wouldn't say bad things about it."
Depression: "I don't know why I even care about the freezing, or anything for that matter."
And finally, Acceptance: "Yeah, it just does that sometimes; oh well."

You know, I hate being a bitch but haven't we had at least 5 threads in the last week or so about nearly the same issue? Don't these people even read a few threads before jumping in with a question so vague no one can answer? You'd think they would at least offer what kind of computer they are using and the client version.........something to help someone get an idea of what the problem might be. It's like we already know what they have and how new, old or broken down it is.

Geeze.........I should go to bed. LOL

Yea, thanks for posting TWICE, and not helping at all. You must feel like a real winner.

And this gives me something to work with?

From your discription of the problem the cause could be anything. I have no idea what kind of computer you are working with, your operating system, you computer specs, your version of SL you are trying to connect with, if you are on a home network, ADSL/DSL/Cable connection, system RAM, when was the last time you defragged your hard drive, how recent is your video driver, how often do you clean out your computer case.............all (or, at least, some of that might give people a clue about where to start to try to help you. As is right now you might as well have said "I crash. Why?" No one can help you with a question like that.

If you would browse this forum you would know people need some information to help. Instead you dump an almost impossible question on us and get snooty about my frustration with people like you.

You want help..............give us something to work with. Otherwise, fix it yourself. Sorry to be such a bitch.

Next time you're inwold, choose "About" on the Help menu and paste the part about your machine specs here. In all likelihood the answer is there or it's something in your networking setup.

Or, if you have a large footprint virus checker like Norton or McAfee, it is quite possible that one of their many background operations (for example, quarantining textures in the SL cache) is nailing you. If that's the case, try a lighter weight one like AVG.
