I started SL -a new version is needed download now?- click yes it downloads and installs-start now? click yes and it starts all over.
I have tried rebooting and deleting cookies but don't know what to try now.

Same. I downloaded the update, installed it, started SL, and it says I need the new version again. The re-download doesn't appear to really download anything at all, then it asks if you want to install, tells you that the new version 1.3.4 is already installed, clicking "go ahead and reinstall" doesn't seem to actually reinstall anything, start SL, there is a new version you must download it...clicking "cancel", then starting SL, results in the same thing.
Gah. I'm going to try and download the full thing from the site (not autopatch).

Hey Ian  They just took SL down for an update about a half hour ago.... and said it wouldn't be back until 9am, perhaps if you wait until then it will be fixed

Same here.
But just wait a few minutes. I think they're reconfiguring server atm to fix this issue.

I had this happen with pre 1.2 updates. So instead of downloading the 'update' when given the prompt, I would go to the download page on the website and download the full new version (it overwrites the old) and then I would get the update loop.
