I've been sitting here for at least 30 minutes now trying to adjust the joystick settings in-game to get it to do what I want. Basically it moves 1 step at a time in any direction. I would like to hold the joystick forward and just allow my avatar to continue walking. Is this not possible? Is there an in-game setting I need to use? Even tapping forward doesnt' work.. as soon as the joystick is reset into its natural position the step forward turns into a step backward... resulting in my position to be my starting point.
So here I am doing my little dance side to side forward to backward trying to get this joystick to work. lol.. help?! Thanks in advance. Even pointing me in a direction would help because I've pretty much exhausted my ideas.

Yeah me too! I'm using a USB Logitech gamepad and it's doing exactly the same thing. Also the same thing with flying; I press the 'flying' button and I fly up...and back down, regardless if I hold it down.
I'm trying to see if I can trick my system into accepting the input as keyboard input (also so I can use it as movie/audio hotkeys). If I figure anything out, I'll reply to this thread.

Actually I just figured it out. I had to disable 3D Cursor. Then I used the Logitech Profiler (which I had to download from the site, it didn't come with the controller) to assign different keystrokes to the controller depending on what game I was running. Hope this helps.

This almost certainly helped. I'm snagging the Joystick whatsit from Logitech now.
I can appreciate how all the settings and numbers for every little thing with the Space Navigator thing may appeal to micromanagers. Would it have hurt them to give us a dumbed down Joystick Configuration for plain old sticks and gamepads? Basically mimicing any sensibly made custom gamepad joystick configuration screen in any videogame for the last 20 years dating back to the 16 bit Nintendo?
