I have the same problem and I am pretty sure it's the graphics card. I'm using Nvidia ... are you? Looking into a solution now. Have re-installed and updated the driver.. with no improvement at all

Disable palletized textures as soon as you login. The keyboard command for this is CTRL-ALT-F7 in the standard viewer.
You may need to rebake textures after doing that, CTRL-ALT-R. This is a bug that I believe is fixed in the Release Candidate viewer. _____________________

Clothing Skin Issue
01-10-2009 07:20
My man has had a problem for a while with about half his clothing inventory and its frustrating as hell. When he wears certain articles of clothing either all of his skin or its his arms or hands or feet will suddenly turn black or white.....We've checked his settings against my own and they are the same...I do not have this problem...And no its not his computer because I've logged on to his account and thats how it shows up on mine as well Yes he has Nvidia but I do not...It has to do with SL....We never had this problem before till about a month ago....Any and all suggestions are welcomed.....His name is ShoGun Rikugun.....

Fix

Use the SL RC5 client to fix this problem. Also Nvidia just released a new round of drivers for all OS's (including Nix).
I stopped using the Stable viewer and went to the RC back with 0 (but had to skip RC2 due to crashing all the time) and have had no more clothing problems. I think it was something to due with SL Stable using the Nvidia 177.?? drivers. All and all, RC fixes the problem, if it does not for you, jump in the Jira and add to one of the open cases on this problem (dont forget to vote). |

I have this problem with more and more clothes. First it was only shoebase, then it was shorts and now even jackets make my legs get a new colour.... I tried the ctrl+alt+F7, but no noticable change.
And what you are talking about, Mopar, I really don't understand a word, LOL... could you explain it in child language please? ;o) |
