Neighbooring Sims Causing Lag

Not sure if this has been covered anywhere yet. If it has I can't find it, and heaven's forbid we ever get any kind of documentation on this game.

Does the overloading of a neighbooring sim cause lag in the sim you are in. In Cortina tonight the lag was ridiculous, then I noticed that Durango had 31 people in it at some club. I couldn't even get into Durango, I got a message when trying to cross the boundary that the server was full.

Should/Would/Could that cause the enormous lag in Cortina (which was totatly empty at the time?

Any advice/comments/suggestions will be appreciated. I think the Lag problems are getting worse. Or maybe it is just me expecting too much from this game.

Yes you do get lag from across sims. If you can see across the border you had to load it from that sim and if that sim is laggy it adds to your sims lag.

You should neg rate the club owner then lag bomb his club till the sim crashes.

That should fix your problem. Plus wouldn't it be fun ;)

Sorry you're experiencing these things.

It is a symptom of a larger problem - the rules of this system reward dwell and lag-producing behavior. It isn't an easy pill to swallow, I know, but what this means ultimately is -- unless someone's activity is prohibited by the TOS, users are allowed and even encouraged (Dwelloper Incentives program) to produce 'attractions' that increase their dwell, even to the detriment of other players.

It isn't your fault, and you really don't have much of a choice here. You can move, but the system is geared to encourage this activity grid-wide.

You may be lucky and find a sim that has residents that have ignored the 'call for dwell' and exist peacefully in low-lag conditions, but it isn't easy to find a sim that has this balance, or will have this balance continue for any length of time.

I hope you find a peaceful place to experience SL, unfortunately the system is against your wishes in this regard.

I've found a couple sims that are lag friendly. Usually they're pg and don't allow a lot of land editing. Not a problem for me. Cept right now I live in sami which is currently very lag friendly, but the source is setting up shop :/. ::starts to worry::
