Planning to get a new PC

Since my current laptop no longer runs SL the way it used to (and I can't for my life figure out what the heck is causing the freezes), I've finally decided to get a new computer.

I'm planning to get a desktop PC, but I'm weighting between two different models, and I'd like your opinions on which is better for running SL (because SL is really the only reason I need a powerhouse PC for; everything else I'm pretty content doing on my old Pentium III);

The other one has 1.8GHz quad-core CPU with 4 gigabytes of RAM, and the other has a 2.2GHz dual-core CPU with 3 gigabytes of RAM. Both have ATI Radeon HD 3650 graphics card with 512 megabytes of graphics memory and the hard drives on both are pretty huge.

So, it's a question of CPU power (assuming there even is much of a differencebetween the two) vs Memory - and will SL run well on the graphics card?

if it were i, neither ATI has been historicly troublesome with SL, and open GL applications in general

ram is (or should be) cheap, if i were purchasing this, id get the faster CPU and have them install the extra gig of ram

but i guess the questions are, whats the price, and whats the exact model numbers your looking at

99% of the time people think they are getting the best for their money, and often its just not the case
