Iam getting a error after Hardware Check that my video card drivers are out-to-date or unknown. The GFX card is a Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT with the latest driver... wtf it up????

Very common issue if you install a vid card driver without completly uninstalling , ok it bound to happen to anyone cause SL is oddly picky about it.

Uninstall nvidia driver again and try these 174.74 ones;

search

uninstall SL before or do a uninstall on the driver first?

I had this happen today for the first time trying out the 174 beta needless to say now I am stuck in the loop of unsupported chaos!

have uninstalled al sl and cashe logs... re installed driver , rolled back drivers re installed old driver from Nvidia , nothing is allowing me to run.

So now I have done all this :
uninstalled all traces of SL, SL windlight, RC, open life(using the SL UI) all of everything
cleared any leftover folders (even empty s) ;

reinstalled the Nvidia driver from Dell for my card (I liked that one better anyway, and it worked fine a month ago) still get this at start up.

I thought there was a -no hardware scan call you could drop on the shortcut to keep it from searching but I forgot the technical term, I am off to look for it in the knowledge base what a joke!

any help?

But LL decided to remove alot of commands in shortcuit so im not sure if that one work anymore, but i doubt that will fix this issue really, only way to do it , is to make sure you removed anything that related to nvidia drivers before reinstalling new one,any old or new (go figure) can sometimes give you "out of date driver" blabla in SL, seems everyone run into this sometime.

Wouldnt recommend using any other then www.nvidia.com drivers , i had a fan temp prog that came with my other vid card and i could never log in SL if i installed it (enchanced drivers...something addition to monitor/regulate speed on fan)

finally found a copy of DriverClean Pro and that fixed it!

Thanks for your help all.

its crazy that I have updated drivers rolled back many times over the past 2 years and never had this issue on this machine. Something finally must have got stuck in there LOL
