An owner of one of my Jillicopters IMed me to complain that it would not shut off when she hit "Release Keys".
Worried that I had let a rather goofy mistake slip out into the wild, I did my darndest to reproduce te problem. I couldn't. Neither could a couple of freinds of mine who also have Jillicopters.
The owner reproduced the problem for me - and it was strange indeed.
The link message controlling the speciall effects - sound, particles and texture animation - was appearantly not getting to the other prims from the parent process. The main script was turning off physics, and thus probably sending the message.
I had her give me back that copy so I could try and figure out what was wrong with it. But once it was in my possesion, it behaved as designed.
The replacement copy I gave her worked for one iteration, but started behaving poorly afterward.
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this for her? It's still useable, but annoying to have it WHUP-WHUP-WHUPing when not actually flying it.

i've had a similar problem with particles and vehicles. For the sound problem merge the sound script into the main control script as that should eliminate that symptom.
Other then that i have no good advice for you.

Scripts acting funny

Better do what I did when this happened to me, just in case. Check -all- the scripts on the affected chopper (in every prim that has them set) to make sure the 'Running' checkbox is checked. (If they are not checked, then this is why they are stuck... they /should/ be running) This happened to one of my avvies the other day, and all its running effects and scripts were "frozen in use" and "unable to stop" as a result... and this problem therefore sounds very familiar.
