Intel 945 and above is supported. It is minimum requirement though, so the rest of your set up has to be good.

yea 945 and up ...
intel has this bad habbit of totally redesigning their chips every time they make a new one, the chances a 945 and a 965 are actually close enugh (design wise) to be compatible are really slim
anyway i had a intel 945 biult into a Pentium 3 a few years ago (closet server), it was for the most part a total waste of time, the only way to get any decent performance out of it is to have a super nasty fast cpu and a phat stack of ram
which 99% of the ppl who say a 945 does just fine will tell you about a 3ghz dual core machine, what they dont know is "just fine" is probably the performance of a 1.3ghz and a real 3d card, thus pissing away almost all cpu power on just basic graphics
finally you already HAVE the laptop, just download SL and freakin try it, your computer wont burst into flames if it doesn't work

I had a Sony laptop with 945 and SL ran wonderfully. Wanted to get a laptop with more speed and memory and even asked the guy if the Toshiba I bought would run SL - it has 965 with x3100 graphic accelerator. He said no problem. Come to find out, it doesn't run SL and and is not supported by SL. So I am screwed!
Still trying to find a viable work around, and from my research, updated drivers have been promised on the Intel website since August - still no joy! If you haven't yet bought the computer with 965, I would rethink it. What I can't understand is why Intel would take a step backwards in it's drivers?????
