stupid computer! only 700 mghz and 256 mgs of ram. I'm under the system req. but I'm still doing fine. I can load normal sized ammount of people but a lot I can't handle. Any tips for making things faster?

Go to Edit -> Preferences and pretty much lower all the display options and Options options. Also, press Control + Alt + Shift + D to show the debug menu, then Alt-3 to stop rendering trees. That sould help quite a bit. Press Alt-1 to check your FPS.

Remember, it's still a beta on the mac, so, it's bound to be slow ;)

What the heck is this "Alt" button you're talking about... ;-)

For Mac users who really have this question, use the open apple key (also know as the Cmd/command key).

I've got a DP 1.25G G4, w/Radeon 9000. It works pretty well, but it gets REAL laggy when quite a few people are in the area. Texture loads seem to take a long time.

To my knowledge I turned debug on on my Mac with Ctrl-Alt-Shift-D just like the PC.. In fact I don't think a single keystroke on the Mac actually uses the Cmd key? (Dumb, that)

If one reads the fine print on the Option key, you'll see "Alt".
