What I would do... Start SL client but don't login. Go to preferences. General. Enable "show start location". At the login screen type "help island public" in the drop down menu, where it says "Home/Last location". Login. Help Island Public has Scripts disabled: Most likely the spammy attachment is not going to work. Open inventory and type " worn)" in the search bar. Right lick the suspicious object and look for the creator's name. Open their profile by clicking it. AR the person. Right click yourself and choose detach all. The spammy object should be gone from your body now. Relog.

Try following the instructions before saying you can't do them. You do them BEFORE logging in, before you have even entered your account information TO log in.

There is no account hacking trick.
Take a few deep breaths and follow the instructions given here step by step.

"What I would do...

This approach only works in the function of selecting where you login has been enabled in preferences, general tab. If not, then you have to login to enable it.
You might try using a slurl from a webpage, that will log you in to another location, bypassing the default.
The 'device' that is causing the problem, maybe a child prim, that is attached to the object you are wearing. I have seen this before. When you log out, this prim which is physical and very tiny, drops to the floor and waits for you to log back in, showering you with poofing textures, multiple notecards, hi-rez textures etc.. overflowing your bandwidth. I helped someone with that same problem, but it can be cured if you give someone you trust, permissions to mod your objects. They would stand near the area where you logged out, wait for you to login, once the 'device' starts, you logout and they will then have to search for that tiny prim (hilight transparencies can help), it will be physical, so will drop to the lowest point on LL land/water (digital terrain) then they should delete it, allowing you to log back in. Hope that works for you.
I'm not sure, but login using the Slim client, have someone TP you, or use the slurl method to one of the Help Islands, or a place where you cannot run scripts, create or bring in objects. As Slim has less overheads and should help.

The reason made that statement, that is not a default function on the client, unless enabled in preferences. IF its not selected, then it will not be available at time of login. Mine is checked, but judging by the responce of the poster, they may not.

Having now downloaded the most upto date client, I see that on the top bar of the client window at the login page, there are 3 menus.. File.. Edit and Help...
To the poster, go to the Edit menu, click Preferences and do the settings to allow you to choose a different location to login.. see if that helps.
To Argent... repeating partial instructions without explaining, and using CAPS, is not cool, nor is it helpful. Sometime ago, the client included a Preferences button next to the login button, there was no other way to bring that menu up, changes in the client has now moved that function (who knows why). That would explain why I did not know. From the instructions you repeated, it was unclear, even to an old user like me. Perhaps you should take that into consideration, that your sparse instructions failed to deliver the information, and not assume people are deaf.

I haven't yet bothered with the newer release, but the buttons are there at the top of the log-in page on my older client. As an opinion, one may believe that CAPS aren't cool, but the forum isn't set up to easily italicize for emphasis, which, at least to me, is what Argent was obviously using caps for: emphasis, not yelling, as there were only key words in caps.

My point being.. there was no point simply repeating yourself, clearly when a statement is not fully explained, or understood, repeating it, is foolish, caps or no caps.

This style of statement is at best Rude.... if you are having a bad day Argent, take it elsewhere.. quit treating people like they are idiots... this behaviour proves you are no teacher.

lol... I was not aware I was arguing about a person, simply stating a principal 'If at first the receipient does not understand the message of what you are trying to say, don't simply repeat the instructions, with or without caps'.. any teacher will tell you, try changing 'how' you put the information across. As for axes... none here that need grinding, they are all sharp.
