I can run SL on my new Sony TZ but it is choppy as hell. Anyone have any ideas as to make it smoother? I have the latest Quicktime running as well.

Intel vid card + wireless + Vista?
I think you have the worst combination to run SL really o_O, yes it will be choppy and awefull long as you have a intel vid card expect alot of issues.

Wow, Randi, I'm amazed that combo works at all. Your laptop must have a lot of RAM. OK, try the following:
> Sometime try it directly connected, not wireless. Just to see if the wireless is part of your issue.
> Crank all the video settings way down, particularly:
--- Draw distance (64) --- Run fullscreen (not in a window) --- Set video memory lower than SL sets it to (64 or even 32 MB) --- Turn particles down or off
and crank down the quality settings, which are different in Windlight or the released client, so I won't get specific. If your experience improves, then slowly crank up the quality settings, until you see problems.
Good luck!

Theres not alot you can do because your running rubbish graphics card and cant change that in laptop .If you have anyway of taking this laptop back I suggest you do and get one with either ati or nvidia graphics because you are always going to have trouble with intel graphics.

SL is running much better with all the changes you suggested on my little Sony. It was disappointing at first to see SL run so slow. The laptop itself is fabulous and could never ever give it up. ..think its the physical size I love the most!. Thank you VERY much! Its not perfect but its MUCH better!!!
