Hello all,

I have been trying to connect to sl for two hours without any success. I had no previous connection problem. I tried to reinstall second life on my computer but there is no difference. It start to log in but then it says "you have been disconnected from the region you were in" and it closes. Could there be a problem with the region were I am trying to connect. Sometimes I have the option to teleport but it doesn't change anything. What could I do to resolve the problem?

Thank you to anyone who can help me resolve this matter :)

More system information might useful. The usual, brand and model of computer, operating system, processor, amount of ram, video card, amount of video ram, exact version of viewer you are using, type of internet service, presence or absence of router, wired or wireless router.

You could try turning your entire system off, including your computer, router, modem, and anything else involved in getting you connected to SL.

You can try logging in to different places in SL. If you don't see a choice of login spots, then on the login screen, before you try logging in, do Edit Preferences and set your preference to allow choosing your login location. I believe it's on the General tab.

I'd try turning the system off and selecting a different login spot first.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I tried to connect from two computers, one is my laptop and it doesnt change anything. I never had a connection problem of this type before so I don't think it has something to do with my system caracteristics. The computer I'm using more often has windows vista, Geforce 8600 GTS,Processor Intel core 2 duo E6750, RAM 2GO, I use the usual viewer, my internet connection is adsl 8 mega.
I tried to change the login spot to "home" for region in preferences, thats the only option but I still get the same message. It maybe a problem with the region I was last or a bug of some kind. I will try to restart everything and disconnect my modem and change again.

Any other suggestion are more than welcome.

Thank you

If you do manage to log in I'd do an immediate "Detach All", in case there's a scripted object causing the problem.

Also after turning off the entire system for a few minutes you could check the router setup to see if the ports are open properly.

If you can take your laptop to somewhere other than usual and and log in and see if you still have the same problem that would provide another bit info.
