I wish to use SL portablely, and find the way to implement that. They only thing missing is that the preferences can not be saved, every time I start SL the preference goes back to the default. Is there any way to get around it? Thanks in advance.

That is odd. The preferences should be saved just fine. I hop back and forth between two systems, and they both know where I was last, what my inventory was, and the like. There ARE system-level preferences that you want to set for the specific computer. You wouldn't want to use a high-end system witha killer video card, and then try to get a low end system to function with the same graphics settings.

Are you attempting to run SL off a flash drive, or what?

You didn't specify whether you're using a Mac or a PC (or which viewer you're using for that matter) so it's difficult to suggest anything specific or run you through a few steps to find out what the problem is :).

One possibility is that you're running into the current bug with WindLight (and possibly the RC or the main viewer) where using the "Skip All" button in "Popups" will "corrupt" the settings. If you really do want to use that, make sure you enable the "Warn about lack of payment info" popup again before closing SL.

Another possibility could be that you're running SL by double-clicking on the program file (the .exe under Windows) instead of using a shortcut with the proper flags added at the end.

Yes, I'm trying to run SL from a USB disk. The preferences need to be reseted each time when I login to SL. Is there a way to export all the local preference to a single file for next time being imported to SL?
