I am getting a strange error message after SL stops responding or locks up. After this happens and you go to run SL again a 'Network 3 Error' pops up and then ask me if I want to send in a crash report. I have to restart my computer and when I do my comp locks completely up.

All Drivers are up to date. nvlddmkm.sys file is dated 12/11/07

Motherboard ASUS Nivida Nforce 560 SLI

My crash reporter has been locking up too lately. It doesn't force me to reboot entirely, but I do have to restart Windows. Very irritating.

You have the option to never send a crash report. I checked that sometime ago, simply because it kept showing everytime I logged out. It is very rare that SL crashes on me, even though I run Vista (Albiet in a non standard way  ) which (rushes to touch some real wood) is very stable for me.

I am running Vista 64.

I am running the task manager in the forward ground to see what is going on. When SL locks up the process shows 0% used for SL.

For some odd reason if I use the basic SL I lock up quite a bit, even when there is nothing going on.

SL Windlight does not lock up that often but it does. When SL does lock up and I force it to close then I get that Networking Error 3 message and then SL just crashes when I Press the OK button. Then when I restart my computer my computer then locks up.

SL maybe running in 64 bit. How would I change it to 32 bit?

This is the website to the power supply unit I have. It is the 650w Neo Power.

I am pretty sure there is enough power supplied to my processor and 2 video cards but I could be wrong.

SL will not run native in 64bit as it is a 32bit programme. From my knowledge, you have to set in preferences of the shortcut icon on your desktop for the programme to be run in 32bit mode. Windows OS are backwardly compatible to a point.

I don't have to set affinity in Vista, but I do in XP..... Nothing in life, as it seems, is simple, just trying to eliminate potentials.

So far this is what I have done and I have not crashed with either client. I went to Compatibility, I selected on Compatibility Mode, and then I seleted to Run this programin compatibility mode for 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2.) So far no crashes or lock ups but I haven't tested it long.

So far placing SL and SL WindLIght in compatibility mode for 'Windows XP (Service Pack 2.) for Windows Vista 64 bit is working well for me. A friend of mine also has Vista 64 bit and this worked for them also. So if anyone else is having this problem putting it in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2 maybe a solution. Just a thought.
