I was able to install it by using compadabillity mode now it looks like my nvida drivers are not updated. If its not one thing its another.

Be sure to use Nvidia's own drivers. The Microsoft drivers are not OpenGL compatible and SL won't run. It's odd that you had to use compatibility mode. Are you in 32-bit or 64-bit? (O.o)

I'm running Win7x64 without trouble. In fact, with the right video drivers, it's been the BEST OS for SL I've ever seen. (^_^)y

Can't agree with you more...since I installed Win 7, i have had less probems with viewer crashing, increased performace because of the ability to access the full 4gb of memory that i have in the machine...not to mention the BSOD is "almost" non existent.

Win 7 rocks for SL :)

I'll jump on the Windows 7 bandwagon. I upgraded just last week from Vista Ultimate x64 to Win 7 Ultimate x64. So far, I've got zero complaints. Some of the new features take a little getting used to, but they're all really nice. Both machines I upgraded seem speedier and happier.

One really nice thing about Win 7 is that Aero doesn't seem to interfere with 3D apps (including SL) in it the way it did in Vista.

As for the performance of SL itself, I haven't noticed much difference. It runs well, but it ran well before, too (Aero issues notwithstanding). I can't say it's doing any better than before, but it's certainly not doing worse, and that's enough.
