I have looked everywhere, but I seem to be the only one having this problem. Every time I open SL, I see regular startup then when the window opens, I see the top bar only and I get Not Responding when I click on it. I have to go to task manager to force shut down. I've tried other viewers and all the same. :/ Please help...

i would remove and reinstall the viewer completely first.
>open windows explorer >turn on hidden files and folders >search for second life(or greenlife or whatever viewers you use)
**if you use chat logs or want to keep them... find them in the .....application data/secondlife folder. move them to your desktop.**
>delete all folders named secondlife( and or other viewer names). >reinstall viewer of your choice.
This might fix you. As it sounds like something in one of the setting xml files is very broken. It is not worth trying to figure out which file and why/how. They will all be repopulated when you reinstall.
hope that helps.

I had a problem like that recently. Turned out it was my OpenGL drivers. Check that if a reinstall doesn't help.

From: Mitsuki Juran I get Not Responding when I click on it. I get that from almost any application on vista, even after a clean install. Main reason why i try to avoid using it like the plague... so far I'm down to "once in a blue moon", when i stumble across a picture manipulation feat that i simply can't do in gimp on linux.

The general idea for getting updated video drivers is to go to the website for the manufacturer of your video card and find a link for drivers. They will have instructions, and will either let you pick out what kind of card you have, or possibly detect what kind of card you have automatically. Remember where you downloaded it to and what the filename is.
The exact procedure for getting the new drivers installed can vary, but the most common approach is something like this:
Uninstall the current drivers.
Reboot, and if windows tries to install drivers itself, tell it not to.
Optionally, but highly recommended by many people at this stage, is to run a driver cleaner. You could leave this step out for the time being and see if you get good results without it.
Run the driver installation file you downloaded.
You would most likely be wanting to go to nVidia's website or ATI's website. (ATI is part of AMD now.)
