Windows 7 issue

I have a bit of an odd problem, i am running the Windows 7 beta and for some odd reason, SL is now no longer working, due to the video card drivers being badly installed, out of date or unsupported.

I am using an ati hd2400 on board graphics card on my ASUS laptop and it used to run SL reasonably ok aside form being jerky.

I was using Vista Ultimate before doing the upgrade to Windows 7 beta and now it has stopped working, has anyone else had this problem or something similar?

Windows 7 is completely unsupported, and is expected to not work.

Even if it has worked in the past, any update could, and most definatly will make SL not work.

You should use an OS that is not in it's alpha/beta stages, preferably XP or Vista

I had the same problem with Windows 7 and an Nvidia card. Running Windows update installed a working driver.

I've tried Win7 once. Don't like it as I don't like Vista :). But it seemed to work pretty well and a lot of vendor updates worked flawlessly...as did SL.

In worst case uninstall your old drivers and install the latest ones. Should work with SL as Win7 is supposed to be backwards compatible with Vista.

The operating system itself, yes. However SL is dependent on things not controlled by Microsoft as well. A major example is graphics card drivers (which are currently in a beta stage), and minor would be other third party libraries.

It works for me using windows 7 and ati 4830 in crossfirex. I had to right click on the sl logo then use troubleshoot compatibility. Then you can select this worked in earlier versions of windows and select windows vista and it should work.

As far as windows 7 well I've been using it since the first day of the beta release and it's light years ahead of any other version of windows IMHO (IN MY HONEST OPINION)<---disclaimer-This person is entitled to have their own opinion and even though you may or may not agree with it is up to you.
