I have been using sl hapily for over 1 year. My current pc is a DELL Dimension C521 and sl works perfectly. I have bought a new machine (Inter quad core, 3 Gb memory, GeForce 9500 GS, 4mb DSL broadband connection etc.). sl runs fine for about 10 mins and then starts 'not responding' for about 2 mins. When it comes back It is as if the client is working but it has lost contact with the servers. This will keep happening and when I try to exit it will not respond. The only way I can recover control of the PC is to turn it off and on again. This problem does not occur when web brousing. In fact it will only occur when I run SL. I am about to approach the PC manufacturer and I wonder if anyone could indicate what is happening to sL. The 4Gb broadband link is the same for both machines. Everything is the same (Network and SL client) except for the PC...which suggests that it must be an issue with the PC. The 10 mins mentioned above is variable, it can be shorter or longer. Could it be a overheating problem? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, Denise
BTW I posted a ticket on the support site on the 2/1/09 and it still has not beeen looked at. Is there a LL quality standard for thye max response time to queries
