Would it work with this game? Or would I need to keep my Radeon card to play the game?
Has anyone tried this?

If that's one of those high-end "graphics workstation" cards, don't bother. Unless you have an older Radeon, you're not going to see a huge improvement. The bottleneck in SL is the CPU, not the video card. It might look a little prettier but it won't be much faster compared to some of the recent Radeons.

i'm thinking of getting the firegl for my school work.
so it will work? or will i need to maintain a standard home computer graphics card for the game?
cpu bottleneck is pretty crazy. its probably the only game i've ever heard of that has that problem.

If it's relatively new and it supports OpenGL, it'll probably work. The only exception is with some (not all) laptop chipsets that have functionality stripped out to keep power consumption down. I think it will run just fine, but with the caveat that it may be susceptible to the same bugs that current ATI owners have. Read the thread about ATI bugs and what is being done to fix them.
