missing stuff in folders and lost L.M

about an hour ago for some reson ive lost all my L.M and ive got folders saying where nothing inside them over 50% are showing as that in my inventory ive reloged in 3 -4 times still nothing anyone one have anyider whats going on? and how to fix this prob or overs having the same prob?

ALL of my LM's are gone, as well as a $1200L item I purchased YESTERDAY!! I was so busy today, didn't have time to rezz it out... go figure.

I've cleared my cache, restarted my computer, restarted SL, and everything is still missing. Heaven only knows what else is gone :/

If what I've seemed to find in researching this issue, this seems to be a common problem with SL. My trust in the system is questionable at this time. How can I feel safe spending more of my money on items to have them go "missing"?? Is there any recourse? Any salvage areas? Backups? C'mon people, there must be something that LL does to ensure the quality of the game and safety of our RL money being spent on it.

Any suggestions? HELP?? I'm crossing everything there's a viable resolution to this issue.

I have always found my stuff eventually. There is hope!

CherylSue - How did you find your stuff? Did it just magically reappear? Did LL offer assistance? This morning, I calculated my purchases since just Thursday and I'm out about $4000L of merchandise, not to mention animations, scripts, landmarks, you name it. Would love to hear how ya did it

Yes it just magically appeared. I also checked to make sure it is on transactions history. That way it can be replaced if something weird was to happen, but I have always found my inventory eventually, normally on a relog.

A lot of times, "missing" items aren't actually missing, your SL viewer just managed to miss hearing about them. The way to tell if this is the case is to force your SL viewer to re-read your inventory from the grid by deleting your SL cache (Protip: it's probably faster to quit out of SL and rm -rf ~/.secondlife/cache or drag the equivalent Windows location to the recycle bin than wait for the SL viewer to clear it's own cache) and relaunching the viewer.

I've been reading about the inventory update thingamajigger and the havoc it's wreaking on people's inventory and yesterday I bought a script that I intend to use in a very major way this coming weekend and OMGOMGOMG! Don't say that. ( >.< )
