As if dealing with the 75% crash on teleport isn't enough...

...seems it's impossible to log in now:

"Unable to connect to a simulator."

... right after finally springing for Linden Land... woot!

I spose this explains things ::

"Our support portal is currently having technical problems. If you only need to view knowledge base articles, please log in as a guest. If you need to submit a ticket, please try again later (you will need to reload the page)."

I was having that problem, you have to completely uninstall sl and reinstall it to get rid of any temp files you have , then i was able to log in

Similarly, I was able to resolve this same issue by clearing the cache. You can do that without logging in by selecting the Preferences button and going to the Network tab. You will need to restart SL to finish the deed.

edit: Well, I was able to log in, but couldn't teleport anywhere. Lots of fun this is. :(

1) Completely untrue, clear your cache and poof, 2) Unable to connect to the simulator means its having a network issue communicating to the sim. This can be either SL's network, the backbone of the internet or your ISP/connection dont assume to know or blame LL for it till you did a traceroute and found out where its dropping out. And you cant use oh I can visit anywhere else as a excuse either cuz every site in the world isnt at the same place and so each route is very rarely the same.

and BTW if you havent read the news there is some major network backbones down. so have patience maybe do some debug work and post a traceroute of the sim that you have problems with, when I get this problem I just try logging in at a different sim 'by name' and that goes around the issue.

So I pay LL a hefty sum each month to work as a tester? No. I am perfectly educated and experienced to do a tracert, however. The first time this happened, I ended up clearing cache after many other troubleshooting methods all failed; this worked. I call it coincidence.... seeing as how today it is doing it again.

Before you blame the client... know that I have tried this on all three: Stable, RC, and Windlight.

Don't jump on my post acting like a 'smart guy' when all you have to offer is a mild flame to someone actually offering a solution above and beyond 'do some work by typing tracert, ctrl+c, ctrl+v.

Thanks.

Honestly, it sounds more like an internet-related problem than anything to do with an uninstall or clearing of the cache. I'm definitely not an expert, but has anything changed with your ISP or your connection? How are you connecting? Cable, DSL, wireless, etc?
