I've been running SL viewer on winXP for a month on my desktop computer with no problems, then suddenly it started crashing as soon as it logins. I've tried uninstalling it, including deleted all directories, and reinstalling it, but the same problem is still there.

I can log in sucessfully on my old laptop (which can barely run SL), so I know it's not a problem with my account or network.

It seems to me that some component of the program is not being completely uninstalled.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

thanks,
MH

for some reason, all of the video settings had been corrupted, and where being carried over from version to version (presumably in the registry). I simply had to manually reset them.

just in case anyone else is having the same problem.

Simple programmes like regcleaner have been around since windows 95... do microsoft include this basic required programme in the OS.. no... yet the registry is like the asset database for the whole OS and supported programmes. When windows slows down to unbearable proportions, a simple clean of the registry makes it perk up again.
