Cannot get SL to run

I have Windows XP, Del Dimension 2350, Vision Tex Xtasy 9200, Directx 9.0, my bios is Phoenix Award Bios V6.00pg.
The program loads and then after connecting it crawls and the task manager alternates between running and not responding. I have tried everything, i called for technical support when i had a Radeon 9200 and returned that card for the Vision which my daughter has and has no problem entering the game. She has a gateway, my grandson has a Vision Tex Xtasy and the game runs fine. I am the only one with a Dell and cannot get the game to run. I cannot be the only person with a dell that has this problem and i dont see a similar problem posted on the forum. When i original downloaded the game it ran for two days and this is before i loaded more memory and installed the card. All my problems started with i was notified that SL was upgraded and since i downloaded the upgrade i cannot get the game to run. I have uninstalled and installed the game at leaste 10 times. Short of buying a new computer and this one is less than 2 years old. Can anyone help me?
