Upset the way LL handles outstanding payments.

I had an account Kane Kent for a zillion years... I got so many my friends hooked to SL many who poored 100's even 1000's into land and items.

Now I come back been at school firewalls block sl ports and I find my account has some 1866 number or something.. Sounded like a password recovery system..

They told me my account was locked since I had a big outstanding of 3 bucks and some cents lol...

I was like well not a problem I would easily pay that off I guess my CC expired and somehow it auto charged..

That and I knew I had enough Linden in game to sell too. They told me were sorry after 3 months it gets deleted...

WAIT did they just say the 1000's I spent in Second Life including the Linden I had on my character got deleted.....

Shes like Sir nothing I can do for you..


So now I'm telling my friends the way Linden Labs support there long term players and how they scam / Steal.

Thanks for nothing I'm sure the next thing your going to do is send me to the terms of use or agreement service...

PS this account is 2005 just think of the date on my main account.

The TOS does have a section just for this (Part 2.7) but I would bet they use that part especially for older players just to remove the grandfathered-in things the older players got over the years. Section 2.7 says they could do that to all your accounts so maybe be glad they didn't axe your 2005 account to.

$3 seems pretty nit picking, thats why I suggest they did it because you are an old player. The sooner they get rid of the old accounts the sooner they can drop the those special grandfathered things. They don't care, you leave 6 new players take your place.

Yep, they routinely flush out paid accounts if they don't see any money for a while. And to make it all the more charming, they'd have left your stuff alone if you downgraded to basic before your hiatus.

what a backwards system I mean there some amazing personal stuff on my account I miss even pictures I mean its my second life I worked for...

They kill me... Not only that they clearly shaft paid users not free users.

For anyone else who may be heading into a similar situation, remember that just because you can't access the Second Life virtual world because of a school's firewall or similar reason doesn't necessarily mean you can't access your account at secondlife.com and pay your bill, downgrade from premium to basic, and do other financial matters.

There's still some record of Kane Kent, which you can view by pasting

into the chat bar inworld and then clicking the link in the chat history.

It shows a born date of 1/2/2005, payment info used, interests of "I run a mall I'm into building using pre built items hehe I also like reselling", and a pick of "1 Kent Casinos 50L / 10min Money Chair!"

I said someone else didn't seem to have an account anymore recently and was corrected-contradicted by someone that presented an url like the one above. How much of a record still exists I'm not sure.

Well, there's something a person could do, copy all the copyable information about Second Life users, groups, etc. from world.secondlife.com and preserve it for examination after LL deletes it.

Oops, a cutting and pasting error. I tested my url format with my key. My url was the line above yours.

At the same time that I was doing that, making that mistake, the Synergy keyboard and mouse sharing program I use was having one of it's all too frequent fits, making me go back and forth copying and pasting the key over and over, with something completely different than your key or my key coming out when I pressed control V. I need to replace that program. It's wonderful when it works, and drives me nuts when it doesn't.

the way "it" works is you pay whoever whatever you owe, and you wait for them to unscrew you

you signed an agreement, if you breach that agreement you loose (something)

it is not LL's fault that you did not pay what was owed, and knowing LL's policy you did not loose your account, its just suspended untill you satisfy the reason AND wait for someone to unlock it

No no you don't understand.. They deleted or said they deleted the account since they did not get the $3. I be and been more then happy to pay for it but I guess the year on the creditcard or something changed and rather then getting auto billed they thought shutting down the account for good was more fair..

So these freeloaders who don't pay monthly are protected and immune and a long time supporter is screwed over.

I think I confused you and its not about not wanting to pay for the bill its having no chance to.. Most companies and services will let you reactivate easy and I know they can allow it but instead they say you can't to bad so sad...

So....after the way LL has treated you, you went and got another premium account? And call those with basic accounts freeloaders? Tsk tsk. Maybe some of them just don't trust LL's customer service. And how do you determine that only premium account members are supporters and basic account members aren't? Just the $10 a month distinguishes them? All the thousands of linden dollars put into the economy by a basic account holder doesn't count? Personally, I think LL should get rid of all premium accounts and make them all basic. Then they won't have to worry people with billing errors. And then there won't be this prejudice by people like you who don't know the facts about who supports LL and who doesn't and why some choose not to go premium.
