Hello all at Linden Lab!

Any update re: the status of the Mac Beta? Will the patience of your Mac beta testers bring forth Mac version 1.0? or.....?

And, FYI, I am still suffering from major packet loss, and my ISP swears it has nothing to do with them, and I have moved to a new house with the same ISP but on a different node and still have packet loss.

I wish we had an update. We're waiting for Apple to push out a new point release which will implement the ATI bug fixes that have been made. Unfortunately they've been rather close with the release date so we don't know when it will be. Once it goes out, though, and we make sure everything is addressed, we'll become official.

Merwan, packet loss can happen when you are trying to download stuff from SL faster than your connection can handle. Turn down the bandwidth setting a bit and see if it helps.

You're talking about 10.3.5 right? Not, 10.4 due in summer '05. If so, do you know if Apple is addressing the ATI bug fixes in 10.3.5 or are you waiting to find out if they've done it?

It's our understanding that the bug fixes are in 10.3.5 and we're just waiting for the release.

Robin, I use 10.3.3. Would you recomend upgrading to 10.3.4 soon, or to wait, because I don't want SL to break for that time. Should I wait, or install it?

If you're running an ATI card and 10.3.3 we would suggest not updating to 10.3.4 as there is a problem with some ATI card drivers and this revision. It's my understanding ATI has fixed the bug and it's in Apple's court to release the patch.

My Mac with ATI was running SL just fine, but LL disabled my AGP with the last update.

It's now in LL's court to fix it.

I encourage you, if you haven't already, to call LL and make them aware of your configuration, 'cause your machine is the exception that techs need to know about.

So 10.3.5 is out and AGP acceleration is back on. Any ideas on Mac version 1.0? (sorry, I'm just impatient)

The update is in testing and things are "going well." I imagine we'll have an announcement to make in the next month or so. Sorry to not be more specific....but I wanted to assure you that we all feel the sense of urgency around this.
