SL client crashing

I've read through the forums here, and tried a few differen things that were suggested such as getting the newest drivers and such, but nothing seems to work.
SL will usually let me log in, and about 5-7 minutes later, it will crash and give me the crash logger screen. It's making it really hard for me to do anything productive.

Anyone one else having this problem? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
(edit) Oh, and this became a real problem after the last SL update happened. Could it be related to that?

Have you updated your motherboard drivers lately?

That said, you're going to get a much better response if you email support@secondlife.com and ask them what's going on. Your crash reports will usually say what it is.

But do it now. They don't work on weekends, so you have to get it to them fast so they'll respond on Friday.

Ok, I think I'm seeing a pattern. My CPU is heating up badly whenever I run SL. Once it hits about 145/147f, it seems to crash SL. It doesn't heat up like this for any other games I run, and they certainly don't crash.
So perhaps I should ask if there is something I can do, like turning off options to lower the CPU usage, though I'm not sure what I could to or how to do it.
Thanks.

What if you get a bigger fan + heat sink?

Put ice on it.

(Note: The author of this post does not in any way recommend putting ice on your CPU.)

I put ice on it...and it went poof!
I'm on my secondary computer right now, and I'm getting ready to fill the case with that expanding foam stuff to help keep it cool by insulating it. Then I'll drill holes through the CPU to help with airflow....
