Throughout the entire day...I have been unable to connect for even 5 whole minutes, best way of generalizing it I can. Only about 1 out of 10 tries to connect actually succeed, and then result in a crash of unknown origin. :/ I will normally get to Precaching and then just crash to desktop, or get ingame, and crash as like the login crashes, or get MEM_BAD_POINTER errors. I really have no idea what is happening...but I really cant even play the game. It did this in the first releases of the 1.4 preview as well. It also just hangs up in logins occasionally, causing me to Ctrl+Alt+Delete the app. :/
I have since reinstalled twice, redownloaded another time, and still no reprieve.

And I thought downloading and re-installing might be a solution...

Looks like I'll have re-think my strategy.
I suppose we should start compiling a list of hardware, for people having problems: -
AMD Athlon 1Ghz
512MB Ram
Nvidia MX440 (Yeah I know...)
Cable Modem 3mb connection

Try updating your video card drivers. SL tends to have issues with ATi's that aren't perfectly updated. Hope that helps

Actually, guys, your make and model of motherboard and RAM (if possible) are probably more important than the video card and CPU.
In any case, the problem is almost certainly related to either your motherboard chipset or video drivers.

Well, after a distressing night without SL, this morning I was chomping at the bit, and had a quick attempt to login (I just had to try), and am delighted to report it works fine now.
Catherine, thanks for the tip, I should have provided more specific details, I'll bear that in mind for the next upgrade bunfight.
