FYI:

On a Mac Pro with Intel Xeon processors, Snow Leopard, and 4 gigs of DDR2 RAM @ 800 MHz,
my default active RAM, without any multitasking, is 2.227 GB's.

How much does SL add (site without residents):

ONLY 523 MB's!! That's a surprise -- only half a gig!

That sounds about right for this Vista machine.........actually if I remember correctly that's a little higher. About 480 sticks in my head.........but I'd have to check it later when I get on.

It depends on the region I'm in and draw distance mostly. Around 500MB is average I guess. I've had it go up to nearly 2GB. I don't remember ever looking at what it uses on a Mac.

I just checked...........the RAM usage with SL running in a sim that is about average populated with people and prims is 1.2 gigs. Windows with my desktop only is 887 megs. 1.2 minus .887 (rounded to .9) equals .3 gigs or 300 megs.

I did the usage while on SL at a total of three different sims and used the highest reading (but all where within .2 of that 1.2 number...........I used worse case). Seems SL is getting better in the memory department for me.

My current ram use is 1.2 gigs.

Emerald always eats up over 1gig for me.
