Missing sims

As some of you may know, I am passionate about exploring the mainland protected routes. I have noticed something very frustrating this last month. It has become much much more common to find whole sims missing. You get to the edge of a sim and it is like there isn't even supposed to be a sim next to it at all, like when you are at the edges of the mainlands.

Sometimes I have been traveling with a purpose and after 30mins driving I get a few sims away from my objective, only to find that the only way to continue is to attempt to drive around the missing sim (risking ban-lines) or TP, defeating the object all together. This is very frustrating.

Does anyone know why this is and if it is going to continue?

I think LL broke something recently.. All sorts of stuff is getting weird lately.

While wandering around Linden Village the other day, looking for stray bears, I found that the region N of Denby looked like void but there was indeed a couple regions there on the map. Double-clicking on the map got me to that region but looking S from there, to where Denby should have been, looked like void.

/me did a support ticket and they restarted a sim or 3.. Looks fine in that area now.

I have since noticed that the sims aren't totaly down when this is happening. A friend and I were working on somewhere alongside a border, he was stood in the other sim. The sim appeared to disappear to me, but he was still there and everything looked fine to him. He promptly walked across the border and appeared from nowhere in my perspective and the sim returned at the same time.

We have also been in a sim on a mainland and have all the sims around us disappear, making us like an island, yet when I looked on the map, all of the other sims still had avatars in them, so they were still there, they just appeared not to be.

It is like they are getting disconnected from the main grid. Very wierd and frustrating.

I get missing sims alot from my work location. It has something to do with the network. When I bypass my companies firewall the missing sims reappear. Our firewall don't have any settings that we know will block SL, and infact can visit alot of other sims, but every once in-awhile run across a blocked sim.
