Hi is there any way to just render the Avatars, ignoring all the buildings etc? Ideally just avatars on a black background.
Please.

Go to the 'Advanced' menu, which is opened with the 'Ctrl+Alt+D' shortcut. 'Advanced' will then be the last item at the top of your client window immediately after 'Help'. Select 'Rendering > Types' and switch off each item on that list except 'Character' by selecting each one in turn. Turn them on again using the same method.
You could do it all quicker with the shortcuts 'Ctrl+Shift+1' and all the way up to 0 and of course leave out 'Ctrl+Shift+4' which is the 'Character' selection. You may need to do 'Ctrl+Shift+-' to switch off Clouds, 'Ctrl+Shift+=' to switch off Particles and 'Ctrl+Shift+\' to switch off Bumpiness. Still, I think it may be better to do something like this for the first time through the menu in order to square up how it works. |

Why would you want to do that anyways?

I can think of a couple reasons. Chatting or socializing where the only interest is who you are chatting or socializing with.......background distractions are not desirable. Maybe photographing for clothing on an avatar for placing on a vender or box to sell in a shop. Or maybe just a low end computer that struggles with lots of textures being rendered.

Put your avatar in a hollow black box. Disabling some of the rendering features will almost certainly make objects you wish to see invisible (prim hair) while still rendering objects you don't want to see (other avatars).

Or green, or blue, or white, or red...............or render avatars only.
