I have xp home, pent 4 2ghrtz, Intel integrated extreme graphics with 64mb of shared video mem, and dsl connection.
I click on the little icon and it loads up the log-in screen and then I enter my name and password and then continue. It freezes everything in the verification protocol screen. It hangs at about 25%. Nothing else happens and I can't even click on the quit bar down below. I resort to ctrl+alt+del to get out of it. This is the first time my machine has frozen....arrrgg..will I ever get to see what this world is all about? Thanks for any help anybody can give me...ohhhh and one more thing..if you suggest uninstalling it...please include directions on how to do that. It doesn't come with a pre selected unintall option and I am not used to doing that. Thanks.

The Intel Extreme Graphics platform (in some 845 and 830 chipsets) isn't currently supported by Second Life. You'll need either a modern nVidia (GeForce 2 or better) or ATI (8500 or better) graphics card in order to play, sorry.

Will it be supported in the future? Thanks

We have no near-term plans to add support for this chipset. Not knowing its exact capabilities I can't promise that we never will, but it won't be soon in any case.
