I have been forced to use the Nicholaz Second Life Viewer ever since i bought my brand new laptop gaming machine.... wonderful laptop.. and is hostage to the memory leak.

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5550 1.83 Ghz
4 g Ram
GeForce 8800M GTS version 167.46

running Nicholaz, i still have the memory leak, but i can at least walk and move around the environment reasonably well for a couple of hours before i crash.

I downloaded the newest version of the viewer, thinking.. perhaps since they are bragging about fixing things, they had fixed the memory leak thing..

Now when i walk it is.. walk a few steps, stop. burp. walk a few steps..stop, burp.... my task manager indicates i am completely maxing out my processor time when i actually.. ::gasp:: try to do anything in sl...

PLEASE.. i need to find the sl viewer that is compatible with the Nicholaz edition... i cant figure out where the link is from his blogspot. I need the 1.19.1(4) version..

It is either that or i will be forced to buy a new laptop..

Please HALP... thank you

How to find a particular viewer version

If you use the standard download link and remove the filename from the end you end up here:

http://download-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/

It's an XML file that lists all of the available client versions

find the one you want and add the filename back onto the end of the url.
.exe for Windows, .dmg for Mac and .tar.bz2 for Linux

Depending on exactly which 1.19 version you need, it might be:

http://download-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/Second_Life_1-19-1-4_Setup.exe

Good Luck.

What I would call "the standard downloads page" is secondlife.com/downloads , which is the page that you get to when you use the downloads link in the dropdown list at the top right of the page when you are logged into secondlife.com,

or use the downloads link on the top left of some of the secondlife.com pages:

What Raloc meant by "downloads page" is the place where the actual installation files are stored, which he showed in his post:

http://download-secondlife-com.s3.amazonaws.com/

You can find links to the old version installers in the Second Life wiki, at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Old_versions .

It even has links to the release notes for the old versions.

You can find that wiki page using Google by using

second life wiki old versions

as your search terms in Google.

Second Life - finding old version installers using Google

You can also bookmark that page of old version installers so you can find it in your browser list of bookmarks.

Nicholaz also has links to the Old Linden Viewers at his place.
