Heres my issue...
I am on comcast cable. When I run a bandwidth speed test heres my results:
5.65megabits per second 689.61kilobytes per second 8:21 PM Wed Feb 27, 2008
When I am in second life on my land and I pull up statistics I am getting 7-10 kbps.
Needless to say.. I cant even move, walk or cam around. all graphics are set at the lowest but thats really not an issue. Im not talking about Frames Per Second. Just the stream. My PING to the simulator is around 130.
Any ideas? My internet is very fast and have no issues in other online worlds or browsing the net as far as latency.

Usually when you cannot move or experience lag it can be caused by the simulator being pushed to the max, to make sure that it isn't you or your connection make sure that in the Ctrl+Shift+1 shows a simulator Time Dilation 0.9 or higher and the sim fps should be 45.
When you see the time dilation drop down to .04 or lower its almost impossible to move.
Physical objects colliding/rezzing can often cause this

It's a long shot, but Comcast is the one service provider that is most frequently mentioned for limiting bandwidth for peer-to-peer streaming traffic such as bittorrent. Unfortunately, even though SL is not a peer-to-peer application, it has been known to be throttled by this QoS equipment. Call up comcast and tell them you play a streaming video game and you think they are throttling your bandwidth when you play it. Perhaps you can bring up SL while they watch your link and they'll be able to help. .
