Renting for the 1st time - best just to do it manually?

Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong area to post this type of question.
Please move it somewhere else if needed.

I'm just playing with the idea of trying to rent a small 512 plot I've designed with a kind of "Moving in" look.

Rather then mess about with rental box's for perhaps just 1 or two 512 plots.

Is it easier just to get people to pay you directly each week by visiting them for the rent (if needed)

Or is this just too basic an approach and some official method would be better?

I created my own group, for no other reason but to make my own group tag! It does cost, I believe it was 100 Lindens. In order to keep a group open it needs to have at least 2 members.

If you wanted to rent out land it may very well be a good idea to have a group, so they can join to be able to place items down, this part would be better explained by someone more knowlegeble, all I know is most land rental require you to join their group.

this looks like a nice simple rental system that might fit your needs...and it's only $290L

Thanks for both of you for your suggestions. I will take a look at them both.

I kinda like the idea of a little flotaing box someone ticks on the pay rent, and also tells them how many days they have left, how many prims (perhaps) and their account balance.

As long as it's not too complex to set up for a 1st time landlord.

And also the problems that being a landlord may bring!

This is not an appropriate subject for the Technical Issues forum. This would be more appropriate in Resident Answers. Do a search there for the numerous threads from beginning landlords asking for advice.

Thanks for let me know.

I did a look through before posting and in the forums I looked at it all seemed talk about land for sale and rent, and not the actual process itself.

If any of the mods could move this thread into the correct area it would be appreciated.

Again, apologies.
