Can anyone explain to me the process for uploading sound bytes int o SL? I want to learn how, and how do you upload songs to play?

SL only allows you to upload 10 second wav files of the 44hz variety. Uploading songs is a merry little dance of converting the mp3 or ripping the CD, getting it to the right format of wav, dicing it up in the best little shredder you can find. Then you pay L$10 to upload each piece (in file menu Upload Sound), take all those pieces put them on an object and make or find a script that will hopefully play them in the right order with only a few gaps if you have really low lag. Or you can wait for streaming audio in 1.4, upload the song (in whatever format) to a website or find a good streaming audio channel, and hook it up to your land. And it plays smoothly at the same volume to everyone on your land (pending a bug fix if it is a mono stream) and doesn't annoy anyone not on your land.

Thanks Ama, I tried that and I broke up MP3's and converted them into wav format. Then when I tried to upload them, I was told that the wav files were not in PCM format? What the heck? Thanks, Kaleb

Yes, they have to be in Windows PCM wav format. If you look at the save options on your software, there should be something that will fit.
