Ok, seriously now. I just freaking reinstalled Windows for my Geforce's sake, and updated the drivers, AND updated the AGP drivers.

SL seems to think otherwise, and has reverted my geforce into PCI Mode.

How do i fix this. PLease. Before I send my hard drive through the roof.

Just a guess:

You may have to re-install your 4-in-1 (or equivalent for your system) motherboard drivers.

Hope that helps =)

SL Mentioned that, so I did. I snagged the latest drivers from the motherboard manufacturer's website. Still getting the same problem.

Try getting some directly from the chipset maker. (Look in your motherboard manual or online to find out the exact chipset version number)

Kelly Linden is a minor god.

That solved the problem. Thanks :)

Yeah, you almost never want to get the drivers from the OEM -- they usually just screw them up. The only case where I ever recall having to was with a GeForce 2 GTS I had, where it would only work fully with Asus' drivers. (It had a non-standard video-in feature.)

So does this mean that you can get into SL now, Lordfly? :)

As much as I like SL, I can't see spending $3000 and losing a corner of my house for a machine that would only be used for SL.

corner of your house? $3000? what are you talking about? Maybe you're thinking of enterprise servers. Yeah, servers are 3 thousand dollars... that's a really effing good price for a server, though.

Oh well, I'm sorry, I should know better than to bait you. I'm not trying to start a flame war, I just want to help educate people. I also just hate this perception that macs are expensive. Most of the apple product line is well below 3 thousand dollars. Most of the product line is not "corner of your house" sized either. Quite the contrary. I'm done, and i won't say any more.
