It seems with every update, I get more completely random crashes. I just downloaded the new update, and not 5 minutes go into it without the program taking a dump and exiting. I wasn't even moving! I was just chatting.

Prior to that, the game would crash on a 50/50 basis if I was moving through many zones quickly (just by flying though)... too much prims loaded at once, I guess.

My rig:

ATI Radeon 9500 running 3.4 catalysts
1.4 GHZ athlon XP
512 MB DDR ram
windows XP professional

anything else you folks want to know? I get kinda grumpy when I can't run my game.

I never crashed before but last night I did 3 times while just sitting there chatting. And today the installer crashed and SL was in hard shape so I had to delete and re-do. No problems so far...

Not one crash since the update and I was crashing a minimum of 3-4 times during gameplay. Keeping my fingers crossed that my repeated crash days are over.

Catalyst 3.4? The recommended driver for your 9500 is Catalyst 3.6 -- if that doesn't work well your best option would likely be Catalyst 3.1. I used 3.4 for a while with very poor results, so unless there's a strong reason for running 3.4 I'd try one of the other drivers!

The only time I ever crashed on SL was tonight while I was shebangin' it in a hotel on a laptop... I might even have hit control-alt-delete by accident because the people above me were having sex and the sounds were rather distracting.

I pretty much never crash. I use a 1.5GHz Pentium 4 with 512MB of that RAMBUS stuff everyone makes fun of, and a GeForce 2 GTS. I go to Windows Update regular-like, so my drivers are up-to-date. I fly like a bat out of hell most of the time, and once every few days I'll get "stuck" during a sim transition.

Crashwise, the one thing it'll do every now and then is hang during logout. I've actually noticed fewer crashes these days than before.

Same here, very powerful computer with a GeForce 128mb card and 1gb ram and I never crash. Just hoping I can get it on a laptop.
