I've said it before and ill say it again ... the quality of service from SL is a joke ...

First logon today ... friends list empty ... ok ... relog.
Second logon ... friends re-appear ... hmmm.
But i cant teleport ... anywhere ... tried 15 times.. nothing.
And search is broken ... it doesnt find anything
Oh look ... just standing in my home trying to TP, and the client crashes ... again
Logon again ... still cannot teleport

Wow... what a qualty experience. If this was exceptional i could accept it ... but about 50% of my logons are like this. Stuff is more broken that working ... im actually *surprised* now when a TP works.

The basic problem i think is that the SL hardware grid is fragile but the software is designed as if it were robust ... this is a combination doomed to disaster. If Linden want to be successful they had better pray that none of the competition gets it right.

And please ... no posts about how theyve grown so fast this was bound to happen. Thats a feeble excuse at best. Imagine buying a car from Toyota to find it was a lemon and the salespersons tell you its ok cause there sales had grown too fast for them to make reliable cars anymore.

I am having the TP and search menu problems too. And I asked other people in the sim I am stuck in if they are having problems, and everyone says no!! If I wasn't using money in this "game", it wouldn't be a big deal, but I have spent money and I want to be able to use my time and money!

I am having horrendous problems - I log in - 1-2 mins later I can turn but I cant walk.

I have a helluva PC set-up (£5K Worth) 256MB graphics Card 16GB Ram 500GB HDD Dual Processor Board with 2 Core Duo's on - My god how much more do I need??.

I have tried running SL under XP, Vista, OSX & Linux and the problem exists on all platforms I run across my three machines.

So .. it aint nothing to do with my machines or my 8MB broadband connection which runs fine doing everything else.

So far I have spent nearly $1000 of my own money in SL - and I want to see a return on my investment but I am being prevented from gaining that return by the fact that SL Viewer is a pile of crap.

I too don't buy the argument about speed of growth - they should have spotted that trend nearly 2 years ago and positioned themselves to be able to cope with the demand - I am sure that there would have been one or two of the big boys who have an SL Presence such as DELL or IBM who would have been more than willing to stump up the money needed to get into that position.

In the RW - you could take Linden Labs to court over this - it amounts to taking money by deception. If its a "game" then don't charge anyone for the premium accounts and don't allow people to spend money inside the game when you know it doesn't work properly (and they cant deny they don't know as the forums are full of people telling them so).

Lag, I can handle, not being able to get on with the things I want to do in SL that I have invested time and money into - I can't be doing with that.

Linden Labs need to wake up and smell the coffee - someone else will come along with a similar product that works - it doesn't take much for a mutinous crew to jump ship!!!!

I have sent tens of dozens of crash reports - reported the bug time and time again through the bug report tool and even emailed people at Linden ... so far the response has been ...

SILENCE

Not even an acknowledgment that they had received anything from me and that they would be looking into it!

I think they concentrate on the things they can fix easily - which makes them look like they are doing a lot rather than fixing the stuff that REALLY matters like getting people in-world without issues.

I am getting fed up with it and so are others that I speak to.

The SL servers are far more craptastic than the client, which - unfortunately - is the harder part to fix should they care to.

Don't think of it as an investment, think of it as burning money, 'tis more accurate.

I know how you feel. I have to relog at any sim I want to go to 90% of the time. I lost tons of dollars worth of inventory, since I reported it on a firstlook they told me to re-send the bug in the newer client. Dumbtards.. the new version didnt fix inventory.

It seems I still cant tp people that aren't on friends list, which was possible in firstlook. Also I liked it a ton better when textures/notepads opened in those tabbed boxes, which now they don't again.

I cancelled Premium service, because quite honestly, there is no benefit. No premium tech support, TPing a myth if your premium or not, they took away firstland, so I am sitting here going.. where's my $72 going? NOT TO ME!
