I was wondering if there are any other people out there who have a limited internet account?

I live in belgium where things like unlimited internet accounts don't exists...

Wich is a very sad thing because i'm forced to reduce my hours of playing SL so i don't cross my limit and be banned on smallband (28k)

Wich is kinda sad and makes me depressed because i really like to play SL.

Today i've sent en e-mail to my internet provider (telenet) to ask them why we don't have any unlimited Internet accounts while they do have unlimited internet accounts in the US and the UK.

I seem to download around 40-80mb every day when i play SL.

And i got a limit of 10 giga downstream and 1.5 giga upstream.

Does anyone have any solution to this problem how i can play more SL?
(besides moving to an other country)

Maybe something in my SL settings?

Turn off streaming audio, drag the bandwidth down to the lowest it can go (I think 30), and make your draw distance 64.

That will press the least amount of bandwidth your way.

ALso, out of curiosity, how are you measuring how much data you're getting during SL? I'm curious to know how much havoc I wreck daily too :)

Hope that helps.

Remember Dial-Up had an internet connection monitor placed on the taskbar that tells you such information as connection speed, data sent and data received :)

One of the perks with narrowband I missed with cable

You can still get that with your network options. It's just turned off by default on broadband.
