Or rather, it will run, but you can't bring it up in fullscreen.

For the tiny few who run multi-monitor, the nView stuff in the nvidia drivers is Good Stuff (tm) but it seems you have to disable the nview toolbar if you want to run secondlife in fullscreen. Actually, it seems any full screen game won't go fullscreen with the toolbar running.

I mention it, because I noticed it and it was driving me batty for a few mins.

Hey Gavin! I have also experienced this issue using my geforce dual monitor system. I have also dicovered that fullscreen SL has problems running when not in the PRIMARY monitor. If you are using multi-monitor setup, I actually recommend that you run it in a window and stretch the window to the size of one of your screens. You can then bounce it between monitors at your will without worry :)

Hey Higbee :)

From: someone

Ah yes... I can't instruct it to go full screen on the secondary monitor - which is a shame, because whenever I fullscreen video on that one, I can mouseover to the primary without the video 'windowing' itself again - something that happens when trying fullscreen vid on primary and mousing to secondary.

For other users who find that they cannot move the SL window to the second monitor (sometimes the display will smear weirdly and not update) you have to go into your nvidia settings and tell it to use a "multi-display" mode for hardware acceleration.

Specifically (assuming latest detonator drivers) :
start / control panel / display / settings tab / advanced button / geforce tab / Performance & Quality Settings (in left popout tab)

then you can either set the "Hardware acceleration" in the "-Global Driver Settings-" or make an application profile for Second Life (better) and tell it the settings you want it to use there (Anisotropics, anti-aliasing, etc.)

Fun!

PS. I can recommend upgrading to a GeForce FX 5900XT - vroooom! and the BEST bang for the buck currently available. (~$175-$200)

And for extra fun...

set your multi-mon setup to "span" mode, then give SL a fullscreen rez of, say, 2048x768...

Freaky! Wraparound SL! It's like having wall-eye vision...
