Hi Guys......since the latest patch, I've been unable to get past the connect page! I get the screen trying to access.....then the message saying it cant find the server, and suggesting i click the help button to go to the server status page. This only leads to a blank page. I'm not behind a firewall....I've uninstalled and re-installed......all to no avail. Anyone having similar probs? Thanks Vixen

Hmm...
Are you guys running any sort of internet "speedup" software? Because of the server crash on Monday, we moved the IP address of our login server - it's possible that it could be trying to connect to the IP address of the old server.
If you are running some sort of DNS caching system, clearing that cache will fix everything up.

Oh, and I almost forgot - there were some issues with some Windows 2000 release crashing during the login process in the 1.2.11 release - manually updating to the 1.2.12 release should hopefully fix things.
That could potentially fix login problems, although it sounds like that wasn't the case for you guys?

Doug,
I am still unable to log in, after deleting the cache, manually reinstalling SL 3 times, no speed-up software...???!!!!
Can anyone advise? I've yet to hear from support, and this is friggin Day 3.

I accidentally reduced my disk usage rom 1000Mb to 50mb (and now bumped it back up), so I must have to download back all my content... but I can't stay logged on long enough to do it. Of course, before I reduced my disk size, I froze at "connecting to region" for long periods of time for some reason.
But currently, I keep getting automatically logged out after lagging all over the place in the world for a bit with no clothes or inventory. Teleports fail, and I often get stuck in place. This wasn't happening last night, and my net connection seems to be at full speed, so I'm not sure what's going on.

I don't know if this makes any difference, but this week, I had reason to reinstall my nvidia drivers. With the latest drivers, my card (GeForce 4 Ti 4600) would drop to less that 1fps and crash within a minute, sometimes taking windows with it.
After rolling back to the previous drivers, the problem went away. Since this was about the same time as the SL upgrade, I'm not certain whether the problem would have existed with the earlier SL... but it might be worth looking in to as a solution to your problem.
Oh, and the connecting to region bug? I get it 30% of the time, and have done for a while... I generally hit 'quit' and try again... second time it usually gets in.
Sio.

I can connect most of the time by doing that, I jsut can't stay connected, and my inventory and clothes never download.
