Bug in SL download page after registering

Both I and my friend ran into this:

after registering the SL account, you're taken immediately to a download page for the SL client. This is a different page then the one accessed by Downloads>Second Life from the main page.

The file that you get (from the page that appears after registering) has no file extension in the file name (presuming it should be .exe like the other one) and therefore cannon be opened (at least, not without renaming the file)

This is with all file extensions visible, which is how I run my system.

This is minor, but could someone look into this?

Sphereon, we are aware of this bug, unfortunately we have not been able to duplicate this behavior here at the office.
