I am thinking about getting a new graphics card, and thought the ATI Radeon HD 5870 would be nice, but on my current ATI card i get all weird graphis bugs with the latest drivers.

Does anyone run SL on a 5870? Anyone knows if there are problems running Sl on it?

Thank you so much in advance :)

If SL is your main squeeze get an Nvidia.

Plenty of people run ATI cards with SL and it's likely that some of those also run the 5870 card. I'm pretty sure some of those 5870 card users have experienced some issues. And, finally, some of those users of the same card have experienced little or no issues at all. ATI, in general, seems to have a few more problems with SL than the nVidia users. But that, by no means, indicates the cards are not suitable for SL.........you just have to adjust for it's seemingly main "problem" which revolves around OpenGL support on the drivers. Your brief and vague statement about your current ATI card having some weird graphics bug with the latest drivers could be something that most ATI users have to deal with........Vertex Object Buffering (VBO). It's a pretty simple fix to turn that off in your preferrences (Edit > preferrences > graphics and on the "hardware" button uncheck "enable Vertex Object Buffering (VBO)". You might try doing that before you make a purchase of another ATI card that will likely have the same "problem".

But, if you just want to purchase a new card then Briana's suggestion is a consideration that should be taken seriously.
