Joystick Jumpy - Saitek X52

I recently started using my Saitek x52 to record movies again, after not having used it for a while. When I used to use it, it was perfect. Smooth movement on every axis. Now everything is jumpy. When I go into Joystick setup, the green bar follows the movement smoothly, but the red bar jumps around drastically, like from -2 to 0 and back. So this is causing nothing to go smoothly which is sort of the point of using the joystick. I'm using windows vista 64, and have the latest drivers. I'm wondering if this is a problem with my computer, or if Second Life changed the way joysticks worked (maybe for the space navigator or something) and now my joystick won't work anymore.

When I go into control panel to the configuration, every axis is steady as a rock, only second life thinks it is jumping around. Any ideas?

Since LL started selling the SpaceNavigator, they have included a calibration for setting up 'a' joystick.... guess which one it works with? Same issue with my superior Logitech Game Pad, works sortta, when it used to work flawlessly before.
Guess my headphones will be next as LL sell that wonderful headphone set.
