ok heres the problem i have winex installed and when i tryed to install second life and right before it was installing it said that SL is still running and unable to install it so i have no clue =/ but last time i was on slackware it worked perfect but right now im on fedora if that help any

This is a known bug in WineX. Probably the easiest solution is to download the compiled pre-hacked version of WineX 3.3 from http://statspage.dyndns.org/~mark/SecondLifeLinux.tar.gz. If you're compiling your own copy, and feel like doing a little programming, change the implementation of the FindWindow function to always return "false".
