I'm rather frustrated at the current moment. After sending more then a few long hours reformatting my pc I finally have everything back to normal, everything but second life that is.

I installed it without a problem, started it up, got the the login screen and logged on all with no problem..but when it came to the first seconds of game play I new there was something wrong.

This is what I'm seeing. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f189/silverprofiles/zomg.jpg

Its a weird star burst effect that is confusing the crude outta me, the only thing I changed with the computer is the cable from the computer to the monitor. I went from a crt to dvi.
I've restarted the computer, put the graphics to the lowest setting..nothing is working, I get the same star burst thing. Mind you.. I can see that under the star bust things have loaded correctly from gaps between the moving lines of color.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks!

What you are seeing is this bug: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-3258

Best way to get rid of it is to disable Enable OpenGL Vertex Buffer Objects under Preferences->Graphics->Hardware Options. This will slow your frame rate down, but at least it will get rid of the problem.
